La Pedrera

The building, so innovative, is a typical Gaudi’s work in which the geometric lines are just straight form curved planes. The whole facade is made of limestone deVillafranca, 3 except the top which is covered with white tiles, the combination evokes a snowy mountain. On the roof there are large outflows staircase Gaudi topped with the cross of four arms, and covered with fragments decerámica fireplaces, with the appearance of heads of warriors protected by helmets.

Of organic forms, the Casa Mila undoubtedly evokes nature: many scholars have perceived in ways that recall Pedrera Fra Guerau cliffs in the Sierra de Prades near Reus, the torrent of Pareis north of Mallorca and Sant Miquel i Riells enBigues del Fai, all places visited by Gaudí.
